Tesla surprised everyone on June 9 by presenting only the Plaid model of the Tesla Model S. Elon Musk had warned a few days earlier that the Plaid was sufficient and that the performance was there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the other hand, many skeptics remain on their hunger. Indeed, we saw prototypes driving at the Nurburgring, or at the Laguna Seca racetrack with outstanding equipment that made our mouths water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Model S Plaid is quite sufficient and very powerful, but there is still a grey area on the Model S Plaid +. Still on May 14, 2021 we had photos and information of a vehicle on the Laguna Seca circuit with aerodynamic spoiler and motorized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Subsequently and as announced by Elon Musk on Twitter, the Model S Plaid + was cancelled a few days before the launch. A last minute cancellation that seems very strange in industries requiring so much research and development <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That’s why today there is still a lot of doubt about all these evolutions and equipments that we have seen before. The just released parts catalog of the new Model S Plaid, continues to keep the mystery alive <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zero-G rims for the Tesla Model S?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Indeed, it already appears “Zero-G” rims, that is to say, high performance rims for the circuit and adapted to the Tesla Model S. These “Zero-G” wheels tell you something because they are already the rims present in the circuit pack that Tesla offers on its US site, but also the rims originally mounted on the Tesla Model 3 Performance in China <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A motorized aerodynamic spoiler as an option?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This is where things get very interesting. When we saw this motorized spoiler at the Laguna Seca, the crowds got excited and that’s normal. On the other hand, what a disappointment during the presentation of June 9, where it remained absent from the ceremony <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the other hand, it seems that Tesla did not play its last card, and that’s where the theory about a very advanced circuit pack appears. The spare parts catalog in the “Body” section mentions something like “LiftGate, no active aero” which can be translated as trunk without active aero option. Another very nice clue <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our conclusion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

All these clues leave the door open to many assumptions <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the other hand, the arrival of the wheels is more than likely and should happen soon, it seems logical that this Tesla Model S Plaid, is quite cut for the race. We can expect a marketing with an improvement of the braking, the brake fluid but also, and especially, the appearance of a track mode on the Model S, as the Model 3 Performance has <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The probability of a “high performance” kit with a trunk with a motorized spoiler is less likely, let’s be honest and reasonable BUT, let’s keep this idea aside because Tesla’s current procedures on the first deliveries of the Tesla Model S Plaid leave a lot of doubt about what will happen <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indeed, as a reminder, the June 9th event allowed the presentation of the new Tesla Model S Plaid, with 25 live Model S Plaid deliveries, and since then… nothing, not a single delivery, and the other future owners are still waiting. Not to mention the fact that the event was moved from June 3 to June 9 at the last minute <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tesla seems to be behind on many things about this new Tesla Model S, the June 9th event seems to have been mostly a band-aid and a mouthful of oxygen to ask the future owners to be a little more patient <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We can imagine that some software adjustments are still necessary, considering Elon Musk’s comments on Twitter where he indicates that the central screen of the Tesla Model S will be motorized to be oriented in a future update, but also an update on the air conditioning which is very noisy according to the first users <\/p>\n\n\n\n
