{"id":642,"date":"2020-12-03T09:37:17","date_gmt":"2020-12-03T08:37:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.greendrive-accessories.com\/blog\/2020\/12\/03\/tesla-limits-autopilot-in-europe-cause-of-new-un-ece-rules\/"},"modified":"2021-01-15T18:42:55","modified_gmt":"2021-01-15T17:42:55","slug":"tesla-limits-autopilot-in-europe-cause-of-new-un-ece-rules","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.greendrive-accessories.com\/blog\/language\/en\/tesla-limits-autopilot-in-europe-cause-of-new-un-ece-rules\/","title":{"rendered":"Tesla limits self-driving in Europe due to new UN\/ECE regulations"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The European Commission has ruled that the Tesla company violated Regulation 79 of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The countries concerned by this limitation are : Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Monaco, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and the United Kingdom. Consequently Tesla is obliged to adapt its Autopilot system. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The element at issue is the turning radius, in accordance with paragraph 5.6.4.4, which limits the maximum lateral acceleration permitted by a &#8220;Category B&#8221; lane departure warning system to 3 metres per second squared. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tesla is also in the process of modifying <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>two other specifications<\/strong><\/span> : &#8211; its lane change system within five seconds of signalling, &#8211; remote control limited to 6 metres by forcing the user to be within 6 metres of the car and connected via Bluetooth.
