Tesla Model 3 2026: the queen of electric cars reinvents itself
The 2026 Tesla Model 3 continues to dominate the global electric saloon market despite increased competition. Ranked number one in its category in 2026, the Model 3 benefits from a series of significant upgrades that reinforce its premium positioning. The 2026 Tesla Model 3 features a new, enhanced interior, a 16-inch screen (previously reserved for the Model Y), and substantial improvements to the entry-level Rear-Wheel Drive version.

A standard 16-inch QHD screen
The major new feature of the 2026 Tesla Model 3 Premium is the adoption of the 16-inch QHD central screen, previously available only on the latest-generation Model Y. This development standardises the user experience across the Tesla range. The interface is easier to read, the infotainment system runs more smoothly, and the image quality is significantly better than on the previous 15.4-inch screen.
A more premium interior
The 2026 Model 3 features a redesigned interior with a new, darker headliner at the top, creating a more enveloping and luxurious ambience. Interior trim elements have been refined, drawing inspiration from the successful wood panelling on the doors introduced in 2021. The seats and materials have also been updated for a higher perceived quality.
The simplified and cheaper Rear-Wheel Drive version
Tesla simplified its Model 3 Rear-Wheel Drive at the end of 2025, resulting in a significant reduction in the entry-level price for the range. This entry-level version now offers the best value for money in the range, whilst retaining the essential features that have made the Model 3 a success. The WLTP range for the top-of-the-range version can reach 750 km, making it one of the best electric saloons in this respect. According to Tesla France, orders are now open with several customisation options available.
Tesla Model 3 number one in France and Europe
Despite the commercial difficulties linked to Elon Musk’s image, the Model 3 maintains its leading position. In France, it is the best-selling electric saloon in the premium segment. At European level, it retains the title of number one in its category. Owner satisfaction remains high, thanks in particular to the continuous improvement of the Supercharger network, which is now open to other brands. Model 3 vs competitors in 2026
Compared to the BMW i4, the Mercedes EQE and the new Chinese saloons (BYD Han, Xpeng P7), the 2026 Model 3 stands out thanks to its charging network (V4 Supercharger up to 500 kW), its regular OTA software updates, and its autonomous driving capabilities (FSD). It is this integrated ecosystem that remains Tesla’s key advantage over traditional manufacturers. The FSD v13 system delivers major improvements in safety and driving comfort.
