Tesla’s Supercharger network set for strong growth in 2025
Tesla continues to massively expand its Supercharger network worldwide. In the first quarter of 2025, the manufacturer installed 2,200 new Supercharger charging points, representing a 17% increase compared to the previous year. The energy supplied by the network rose by 26% to reach 1.4 terawatt-hours, a record high.
V4 Superchargers: faster and more universal
The next generation of V4 Superchargers is currently being rolled out. These new stations offer:
- Power of up to 500 kW for cars (compared to 325 kW for the V3)
- Up to 1.2 MW of power for the Tesla Semi (standard Megawatt Charging System)
- A longer cable for greater ease of use
- CCS2 compatibility for non-Tesla vehicles in Europe
- Virtual queues to better manage peak usage
Tesla opens its network to other manufacturers
The opening of the Supercharger network to rival brands will continue in 2025. Volkswagen has officially confirmed that its vehicles (ID.4, ID.Buzz) will have access to the Tesla Supercharger network via official adapters from June 2025. This strategy positions Tesla not only as a car manufacturer, but also as a leading charging infrastructure operator in Europe.
The first pre-assembled station in the Baltic region
In June 2025, Tesla inaugurated a new pre-assembled Supercharger station in Estonia, a first in the Baltic region. This modular approach significantly speeds up roll-outs. In Europe, the Tesla network already comprises 14,000 charging points across 1,100 sites in 30 countries, with a particularly high density in Germany (3,600 charging points).
