Hilton Hotels Partner with Tesla to Bring EV Charging to Guests

Tesla continues to promote the use of charging stations as a way to support owners of electric vehicles. Tesla and Hilton have partnered to create the largest electric vehicle charging network. This exciting partnership will see the installation of up to 20,000 Tesla Universal Wall Connectors at 2,000 Hilton hotels across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Infrastructure for EV Charging Gets a Major Boost

Hilton Hotels will start installing Tesla Universal Wall Connectors at its buildings in early 2024. There will be a minimum of six of these chargers in each of the 2,000 hotels. It means more places for EV owners to charge their vehicles while staying at Hilton hotels conveniently.

The growing demand for EV charging at Hilton Hotels is one of the main forces behind this agreement. The EV charging search option on Hilton’s website significantly increased in 2023, making it the second-highest converting search category for bookings. Hilton is responding to this demand by making charging options more readily available to its guests.

Tesla’s Universal Wall Connector

The electric vehicle community has praised Tesla’s recently released Universal Wall Connector. It can charge any EV model made in North America in addition to Tesla automobiles. This inclusivity is a significant step towards making electric vehicle charging more accessible for everyone.

Hilton Hotels Benefit Travelers and Tesla EV Owners

Installing EV chargers at popular destinations like Hilton Hotels makes it easier for EV owners to charge their vehicles while they stay. This makes long journeys more pleasant and sustainable by eliminating unnecessary detours to recharging facilities.

Tesla’s senior director of charging infrastructure, Rebecca Tinucci, stated that the Hilton partnership would promote the use of electric automobiles.

“A key priority for Tesla Charging is installing low-cost, convenient AC charging anywhere electric vehicles are parked for more than an hour or two. To ensure electric vehicle adoption at scale, our joint industry goal must be to vastly improve upon the traditional gasoline vehicle ownership experience, not just meet it.

“Installing infrastructure at popular destinations like Hilton hotels enables EV owners to charge where they park, meaning no unnecessary refueling stops along their journey. We applaud Hilton for their leadership in the space and look forward to continuing to ramp this critical program with other industry leaders,” Tinucci said.

Hilton Hotels Paving the Way for Sustainable Travel

According to a recent American Hotel and Lodging Association poll, only approximately 25% of hotels provide accessible charging stations for EV visitors. With its ambitious strategy, Hilton hopes to considerably increase the number of charging stations available throughout its properties.

Hilton and Tesla Partner to Bring EV Charging to Hilton Hotels

Hilton’s chief brand officer, Matt Schuyler, explained the partnership between the hotel giant and Tesla. Schuyler said:

“At Hilton, we are committed to meeting the changing needs of our guests who are looking for hotel experiences that complement their daily routines while offering exceptional hospitality.

“Through this expanded agreement with Tesla, we are significantly changing the landscape of universal EV chargers in North America in an incredibly short amount of time. Across Hilton’s family of award-winning brands, this network of EV chargers will offer our guests even more value with the convenience of much-needed overnight charging access in more locations”.

By 2025, all Hilton hotels should have these Tesla Universal Wall Connectors installed. The Chief Brand Officer of Hilton, Matt Schuyler, thinks that this expansion will satisfy a rising need from customers and that, in the years to come, it will be a must for travelers.
