Installation

Error F4: Causes and Solutions

Code F4 indicates a problem with the compressor. It occurs in two scenarios: the error appears every time the unit is powered back on, or it recurs frequently after a certain period of operation.

Possible Causes

  • Excess refrigerant in the system: the internal pressure in the piping is too high.
  • Ambient temperature is too high: the compressor’s operating pressure becomes too high.
  • The compressor’s internal rotor is seized (due to vibrations, oil leaks, etc.), preventing startup.

Troubleshooting Steps

  • Check that the ambient temperature does not exceed 40 °C and that no air vents are blocked around the cooler.
  • Turn off the power, let the unit sit for 30 minutes, then turn it back on.
  • After about 3 minutes, check that the side condenser fan is running properly to dissipate heat.

If the cooler frequently operates above 40 °C, it will not resume normal operation until the temperature drops below this threshold. In a temperate environment (40 °C or less), a persistent malfunction is likely due to the condenser fan: check that it is operating properly, and contact customer service if the problem persists.
