Winter Tires — Set of 4
Continental WinterContact 8 S
255/45 R19 104V XL (before) + 285/40 R19 107V XL (back)
Switching to winter tires doesn’t mean you have to go down a rim size. It’s common practice to swap out 19-inch rims for a smaller diameter; but this setup does the opposite and retains the original dimensions: 255/45 R19 in the front and 285/40 R19 in the rear. Four tires, two sizes: the Model S 2021+ maintains its staggered breeding schedule throughout the cold season.
| ✅ Suitable for your Tesla Model S 2021+ — 19" offset wheels (9.5 x 19 ET40 front / 10.5 x 19 ET45 rear) |
| This train contains the 4 tires : 2 front tires (255/45 R19), 2 rear tires (285/40 R19). For this generation, no square-profile tires are approved. |
The 3 Key Strengths
Keep the 19-inch size Reducing the diameter lengthens the sidewall and smooths out road imperfections, but in the process alters the contact geometry and the car’s handling. By sticking with 255/45 and 285/40 tires, you’ll regain the sidewall height, width, and steering precision that the sedan originally had once winter arrives. | What the Indicators Show 104 in the front, 107 in the rear; for the XL model: 900 kg per front tire, 975 kg per rear tire. The two-notch difference corresponds to the tire widths: 255 and 285 millimeters. | A difference of two decibels Energy efficiency and wet traction are both rated B across both dimensions. Rolling noise is the only category where the axles differ, with 73 dB at the front versus 75 dB at the rear—though this does not change their rating, as both remain in class B. |
