19-inch Tesla Model X winter wheels for 2016-2020 cars

Which Tesla Model X do they fit?

The sets on this page are intended for the 2016-2020 Model X. The wheels may only be fitted to versions whose COC (certificate of conformity) lists 19 inches as an original wheel size, and only with the original tyre size stated in that document: check your COC before ordering. For the Model X Long Range and Plaid 2021+, see our 20-inch Tesla Model X winter wheels.

19-inch winter wheels on a 2016-2020 Model X: pros and cons

Energy use. Around 5% less energy for every inch of wheel diameter you drop, in GreenDrive's experience: against the factory 20- and 22-inch wheels, 19 inches is the most frugal diameter offered for the Model X.

Comfort and protection. The taller sidewall of a 19-inch tyre absorbs late-winter potholes better and keeps the rim clear of kerbs.

Snow. The winter tyres offered carry the 3PMSF marking; if you choose another tyre, check this marking on the product page. Tesla recommends König-type chains.

Limits. These sets are not intended for 2021+ Model X cars, and the COC condition applies: if 19 inches is not on your certificate of conformity, choose the 20-inch sets.

Inside the 19-inch package, and the rules

• 4 TÜV-certified 8.5x19 ET35 wheels, 5x120 bolt pattern, and 4 winter tyres, fitted and balanced;
• the tyre: fitted as standard or a choice of several winter tyre brands, depending on the product page;
• pressure sensors matched to your Model X, included;
• the original nuts and hardware are reused.

In the UK and Ireland winter tyres are a safety choice, not a legal one; abroad, the 3PMSF tyres in these sets count as winter equipment under France's Loi Montagne and in Germany, Austria and Italy. Snow chains for a 19-inch Model X

Tesla recommends König-type chains; the chains in our chains and equipment for the Tesla Model X category work on the same principle. Fit them to the rear wheels, never at the front, and stay below 48 km/h (30 mph). Set the suspension to Medium, turn off 'Default Ride Height to Low' and never let air out of the tyres to fit the chains (Model X Owner's Manual).

19-inch Tesla Model X winter wheels: FAQ

My Model X is a 2022 car: will these wheels fit?

No: the 19-inch sets are intended for 2016-2020 Model X cars. For the Long Range and Plaid 2021+, see the 20-inch sets.

How do I know whether my Model X accepts 19-inch wheels?

Open your certificate of conformity (COC): 19 inches must be listed there as an original size, with the matching tyre size. If it is not, the set is not type-approved for your car.

Which winter tyre should I choose?

Depending on the product page, the tyre is fitted as standard or you can choose from several winter tyre brands. Check the 3PMSF symbol first, then compare the EU tyre label (European Commission): the energy efficiency class affects range, the wet grip class affects braking.

Are tyre pressure sensors included?

Yes: every 19-inch Model X package includes four pressure sensors matched to the 2016-2020 Model X. Your car reads the pressure as soon as the wheels are fitted.
