19-inch Tesla Model Y winter wheels, Performance included

Which Tesla Model Y do they fit?

As a rule, 19-inch wheels fit every Model Y 2021–2024, the Model Y Standard Rear-Wheel Drive 2025+, the Model Y Long Range Juniper 2025+ and the Model Y Performance Juniper 2025+. Some do not list the Standard Rear-Wheel Drive 2025+ or one of the Juniper versions: check the product page before ordering.

To keep the factory size of a Model Y Standard Rear-Wheel Drive 2025+, see our 18-inch winter wheels for the Model Y Standard. The usual specification is 9.5 × 19 J ET45, detailed on each product page; no adapters, original wheel nuts reused.

19-inch winter wheels and tyres: what you gain, what you give up

Energy use. In GreenDrive’s experience, energy use falls by around 5% for every inch of wheel diameter you drop, and Tesla’s official ratings point the same way. Against 20 inches: 586 km WLTP on 19-inch wheels against 568 km on 20-inch for the Model Y Long Range Juniper All-Wheel Drive (electrive). Against 21 inches, a test of two identical Model Y Performance cars recorded 158 Wh/km on 19-inch wheels against 178 Wh/km on 21-inch, 11% less (teslamag). The gap varies with the tyre, the wheel, speed and temperature.

Comfort. The 255/45 R19 keeps a taller sidewall than the 20- and 21-inch sizes: it absorbs potholes better and protects the wheel from kerbs.

Tyre choice. 255/45 R19 is a common size: several brands of 3PMSF winter tyres to choose from on each product page, sometimes an all-season option whose marking you should check.

Looks. Replicas of Tesla designs or original designs, in several finishes. Limit: type approval varies with the wheel (TÜV and ECE, TÜV without ECE, or JWL/VIA standards without a TÜV certificate); the product page says which.

GreenDrive estimate (around 5% per inch), never a promise.

What a 19-inch winter package includes

• 4 alloy wheels, 19 inches, with 255/45 R19 winter tyres fitted and balanced;
• 4 Bluetooth TPMS sensors programmed for Tesla, optional on some product pages; a package without sensors for a Model Y Standard Rear-Wheel Drive 2025+ built since September 2026;
• the tyre you pick on the product page;
• your original wheel nuts reused, and a Swiss type-approval certificate as an option.

Winter tyres are recommended rather than required in the UK and Ireland; on 3PMSF tyres, this package also covers the winter rules you meet on a ski trip to France, Germany, Austria or Italy, explained on our Tesla Model Y winter wheels page. Wheels or tyres on their own: see our alloy wheels for the Tesla Model Y and our tyres for the Tesla Model Y.

Snow chains for the Model Y on 19-inch wheels

Tesla recommends König-type chains, for example the XG-12 Pro size 252 for the Model Y’s 19-inch wheels; the chains in our chains and winter equipment for the Tesla Model Y category work on the same principle. According to the Model Y Owner’s Manual, they go on the rear winter tyres, never on summer tyres, at no more than 48 km/h (30 mph), with the wheel covers removed.

19-inch Tesla Model Y winter wheels: FAQ

My Model Y Performance runs on 21-inch wheels: what do 19-inch winter wheels change?

More comfort, a better-protected wheel and 11% less energy use in the test quoted above. They fit with no adapters; check that the product page lists your version.

Do these 19-inch winter wheels fit a Model Y Standard Rear-Wheel Drive 2025+?

Yes, with the wheels that list it among their compatible versions. Some exclude it: the product page says so.

Is a 19-inch all-season tyre enough for winter?

Legally yes, if it carries the 3PMSF symbol, including for France’s Loi Montagne. In the mountains or with frequent snow, a dedicated winter tyre still gives more grip.

Should I choose the package with tyre pressure sensors?

Yes for the Model Y 2021–2024, Long Range Juniper 2025+ and Performance Juniper 2025+: the sensors arrive ready to use. A Model Y Standard Rear-Wheel Drive 2025+ built before September 2026 also takes the package with sensors; one built since no longer has any: take the package without sensors.
