🔧 Installation guide - Tesla Model 3 Highland (2024+)

Installation requires removal of the front bumper and the relevant headlight.

Follow the steps below for a simple and effective replacement.

🛠️ Tools required

- Phillips screwdriver

- Ratchet wrench (8 mm and 10 mm sockets)

- 10 mm magnetic socket

- Torx wrench T25 and T40

- Torque wrench

- Clip pliers

Step 1 - Front bumper removal

1. Remove under-hood storage unit (frunk)

Follow the procedure for accessing the bumper fasteners.

2. Remove upper screws

Remove the 5 screws at the top of the bumper (10 mm socket).

3. Release wheel arches

Remove the 5 mounting clips, then pull the trim apart to access the side screws.

4. Remove side screws

Remove the screw (x1) on each side which secures the bumper to the fender (8 mm socket).

5. Remove lower screws

Remove the 4 screws located under the bumper (10 mm socket).

6. Disconnect connectors

Disconnect the pedestrian warning loudspeaker and any connectors.

7. Remove bumper

Release the 16 clips, then carefully remove the bumper.

💡 Step 2 - Removing the headlight

1. Unplug connector

Pull the tab on the connector to unlock it, then unplug it.

2. Remove the retaining screws

Unscrew the 2 screws holding the headlight (10 mm socket).

3. Remove headlight

Pull out carefully.

🔁 Step 3 - Replacing the LED module

1. Locating the LED module

On the rear of the headlight, identify the LED module for the pilot lights.

2. Remove the original module

Remove the Phillips screw, then disconnect the module.

3. Install the new yellow module

Plug in the new module, insert it and secure it with the screw.

🔄 Step 4 - Reassembly

1. Repositioning the headlight

Replace the headlight, screw it back on (tightening torque: 5.9 Nm) and reconnect the harness.

2. Reinstalling the bumper

Repeat the disassembly steps in reverse, checking each connector and fastener.

3. Check operation

Switch on the pilot lights: they should now emit a bright yellow light.
