Japan Racing JR42 rims for Tesla Model 3 are manufactured using Flow Forming. This method results in a wheel that is lighter and stronger than a conventional cast wheel, which improves the car's responsiveness, handling, and ride comfort, while maintaining excellent durability for everyday use.

Specifically, the rim flange is heated and then drawn by rollers after casting. The metal becomes denser, allowing material to be removed while maintaining the same strength: the weight reduction amounts to up to 30% compared to a cast aluminum model, with a weight close to that of a high-end forged wheel.

Model 3 Performance 2024+: This configuration is not available for this model

The Model 3 Performance Highland requires wider rear rims than the front ones (factory-installed 20 x 9 ET34 in the front, 20 x 10 ET45 in the rear). The JR42 is not Not available as a front/rear split kit : The four rims in this set are identical. It is therefore suitable for Model 3 Propulsion, Long Range, and Premium models across all generations, as well as Performance 2018–2023, but not at the Performance Highland 2024+. For this version, choose a model available in a front/rear configuration.

Installation: What to Expect

The set comes with its Special hardware: 20 Japan Racing 14 x 1.5 nuts and the wrench. The original nuts Tesla are not compatible with this model—you must use the ones provided. Allow 30 to 45 minutes for all four wheels using a jack and a torque wrench. Follow the torque specifications listed in your vehicle’s manual and retighten the fasteners after driving the first few kilometers.

Tire installation should be performed by a repair shop equipped with the appropriate machinery, including a balance check after installation. Keep the certification report in the vehicle if required by your country's regulations.
