Charge your Tesla or electric car anywhere there is a socket: at home, on holiday, at a campsite or when visiting friends and family. Our portable EV chargers plug into a domestic socket, a blue camping socket (CEE commando) or a red three-phase industrial socket (CEE commando), delivering 3.7 to 22 kW depending on the model. They suit European and UK-spec Teslas and most electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles with a Type 2 inlet; a Type 1 version is available for other vehicles. Some models have adjustable current or can be controlled from an app, and our travel kits bring together several adapters for use across Europe.

Portable charger or home wall charger?

A portable charger lives in the boot and plugs into an existing socket, with no installation needed. It is ideal for road trips, holiday homes, or while you wait for a wall charger to be fitted. For fast everyday charging at home, a wall charger remains the better choice.

Which socket gives which power?

The actual charging power also depends on your vehicle's on-board charger: most recent Teslas accept up to 11 kW on AC, while other electric cars accept less or more.

Charging safely from a domestic socket

A charge runs at full current for several hours, so the socket must be in good condition and earthed, on a circuit protected by a suitable circuit breaker and RCD. If in doubt, lower the current (8 or 10 A) or have the socket checked by an electrician.

Portable charger FAQs

Does a portable charger work with every electric car?

With every vehicle that has the same connector as the charger: Type 2 for European Teslas and most electric cars, Type 1 for some older or imported vehicles.

Can it replace the original Tesla mobile charger?

Yes. It plugs straight into the car's Type 2 inlet, with no Tesla adapter needed.

What are the travel kits for?

Charging in several countries, thanks to interchangeable adapters (domestic, blue CEE, red CEE) supplied with the charger.

What is an OCPP charger?

A connected charger that can be monitored and managed remotely, for example for billing in a business or across a fleet of electric vehicles.

How long does charging from a domestic socket take?

Around 10 to 15 km of range per hour at 2.3 kW for a Tesla, a little less for a less efficient vehicle. One night is enough to recover a typical day's driving.
