Flow Forming construction for greater performance

Japan Racing JR37 wheels for the Tesla Model 3 are made using Flow Forming technology. This method produces a wheel that is lighter and stronger than a conventional cast wheel, improving the car's responsiveness, handling and driving comfort, while retaining excellent robustness for everyday use.

In practice, the wheel barrel is heated and then stretched by rollers after casting. The metal becomes denser, which allows material to be removed for the same strength: the weight saving reaches up to 30% compared with a cast aluminium wheel, for a mass close to that of a high-end forged wheel.

Model 3 Performance 2024+: a staggered front / rear setup

The Model 3 Performance Highland requires wider wheels at the rear than at the front, like its factory fitment (20 x 9 ET34 front / 20 x 10 ET45 rear). The JR37 Performance set is available in 19 inches (front 8.5 x 19 ET38 / rear 10 x 19 ET45) as well as in 20 inches (front 9 x 20 ET34 / rear 10 x 20 ET45) — always 2 front wheels and 2 rear wheels, which must not be swapped when fitting. The 18-inch size is not compatible with this version (oversized brake calipers).

Certification and compliance

These wheels carry JWL and VIA certification, which guarantees the structural strength of the wheel according to Japanese standards. No TÜV report is currently available for this reference.

Fitting: what to plan for

The original Tesla nuts are reusable: there are no specific fasteners to order, which makes the seasonal changeover easier. Allow 30 to 45 minutes for all four wheels with a jack and a torque wrench. Follow the tightening torque specified in your vehicle's manual and retighten the fasteners after the first few kilometres.

Tyre fitting should be entrusted to a workshop equipped with a suitable machine, with a balance check after fitting. Keep the approval report in the vehicle if your country's regulations require it.

Swiss customers: a specific approval certificate can be issued. Add the “Swiss Approval Certificate” product to your basket when ordering your wheels, then send us the requested information. Once the file is complete, the certificate is sent by post within approximately 5 working days.

Are the JR37 compatible with the Model 3 Performance?
